This independent contractor role supports the Employer Experience and Talent Discovery Team, building experiences and signals that help employers find the right talent faster. The engagement lasts approximately 12 months through Deel as Contractor of Record in Argentina. You will support development and maintenance of web-based applications focusing on Talent Matching, Talent Rediscovery, and employer-facing experiences. Work across the stack building product capabilities and search/matching systems with emphasis on OpenSearch or Elasticsearch and AI applications to matching, ranking, and search relevance. This role involves collaborative, execution-focused work primarily coding features, fixing bugs, and ensuring product stability and performance.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers from conception through delivery
- Build/improve full-stack experiences for Talent Matching, Rediscovery workflows
- Design/ship search-backed capabilities using OpenSearch or Elasticsearch: indexing, query design, relevance tuning, ranking, semantic retrieval
- Develop matching systems combining keyword, structured, semantic, AI/ML signals to improve match quality
- Partner with Applied ML/cross-functional teams evaluating trade-offs in relevance, latency, reliability, cost, user trust
- Build evaluation/observability/testing/feedback mechanisms to improve matching quality continuously
- Develop clean, efficient, maintainable scalable production code for core services
- Contribute to code reviews and engineering practices
- Additional projects within engagement scope
You Should Have
- 5+ years experience writing production code
- Experience with Ruby (preferred Ruby on Rails), C#, Java or Python
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals including React
- Full-stack experience: backend systems, APIs, data modeling, modern frontend development
- Deep experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch in production: indexing, query design, relevance tuning, performance trade-offs
- Experience building search/ranking/recommendation/matching systems
- Practical AI/ML application experience: embeddings, semantic search, classification or ranking in production
- Experience collaborating with Product and Design in ambiguous user-facing problem spaces
- Experience with analytical databases is a plus
