The impact
Were hiring a Solutions Consultant to improve Methods technical sale and expansion motion. You will operate across pre-sales, joining customer conversations early to run technical discovery, solutioning, and integration planning so prospects and customers reach technical yes faster. This role is a subject matter expert position. Youll bring deep technical comfort (ideally in APIs), strong critical thinking, and a consultative approach to connecting customer pain points to Methods product capabilities and roadmap. The goal is to make buying and expanding with Method easier, faster, and more repeatable.
What Youll Do
- Join high-priority deals early (often call 1 62) as the technical partner to the AE; lead technical discovery and solutioning.
- Translate customer architecture, constraints, and goals into a clear proposed approach (integration plan, sequencing, risks, and tradeoffs).
- Improve technical sales velocity by tightening the cycle from discovery 62 solutioning 62 terms with crisp technical alignment and next steps.
- Occasionally support post-sale solutioning and expansion: participate in customer roadmap conversations,
propose new use cases, and accelerate adoption.
- Build solutions playbooks for Discovery and reference architecture to embed a repeatable solutions motion across pre- and post sales:
- Create and maintain a lightweight knowledge base / product catalog.
- Partner closely with AEs,
CS, TIEs, and Product to surface recurring issues, improve enablement, and feed product learnings back into roadmap decisions.
About You / Requirements / Skills Extracted:
- Deep technical comfort ideally with APIs (selling,
imlementing, supporting or solutioning).
- Strong technical foundation (preferably Computer Science; STEM/engineering/math/physics with clear technical depth).
- Experience in technical solutioning in pre-sales environment.
- Ability to translate customer architecture,
constraints, and goals into integration plans including sequencing, discover risks, and tradeoffs.
- Building solutions playbooks for discovery & reference architecture.
- Creating & maintaining lightweight knowledge bases/product catalogs.
- Partnering with engineering/product teams for product learnings feedback.
- Experience at API-first fintech/infra companies (Plaid,
Stripe) or similarly technical SaaS (observability/data platforms like Datadog).
- Experience selling/solutioning into lenders,
fintechs or complex enterprise buyers.
- History of creating technical enablement content & reusable solution frameworks.
- Operate across pre-sales & post-sales contexts.
- Join high-priority deals early as tech partner to Account Executives (AEs).
- Lead technical discovery & solutioning accelerating "technical yes".
- Improve tech sales velocity tightening cycle discovery → solutioning → terms.
- Participate in customer roadmap conversations & propose new use cases accelerating adoption.
- Partner closely with AEs,
success teams (CS), technical implementation engineers (TIEs), and Product teams.
- Demonstrated critical thinking: ability get behind questions & provide answers matching underlying needs.
- Comfortable operating in startup environment with ambiguous processes & evolving org structure.
- High ownership mindset: ramp quickly & contribute actively on calls producing durable assets reducing future load.
- Consultative approach connecting customer pain points to product capabilities & roadmap.
