PagerDuty is seeking a Sr. Manager, People Applications (HRIS) to lead our Workday strategy and operations! In this critical cross-functional leadership role, youll own the vision, roadmap, and day-to-day health of Workday across Human Capital Management (HCM) and adjacent modules while developing a high-performing team of Business Analysts and Integration Analysts. Youll partner closely with People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal to deliver scalable solutions, high-quality data, and reliable integrations that enable business decisions and a great employee experience. As a people-focused leader with strong project management and facilitation skills, youll drive the evolution of our Workday platform, champion process improvements, and ensure compliance and operational excellence as PagerDuty continues to grow. Key Responsibilities:
- Set the Workday product vision and multi-quarter roadmap aligning technology initiatives with People and business objectives.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of Workday system initiatives from requirements gathering through launch and post-launch support.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of Business Analysts and Integration Analysts fostering continuous improvement.
- Establish working norms, documentation standards and knowledge management practices.
- Direct hands-on configuration and optimization of Workday including core HCM modules such as Advanced Compensation, Absence, Talent, Time Tracking, Payroll and Benefits.
- Leverage Workdays business process framework, calculated fields,EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder), core reporting for scalable solutions.
- Own governance for Workday change intake including prioritization and release management.
- Serve as senior Workday subject matter expert for new features/releases/optimization opportunities.
- Manage Workday security model/access controls partnering with audit on SOX/GDPR/data privacy compliance.
- Ensure robust change management/compliance with security/regulatory/audit requirements maintaining comprehensive documentation.
- Direct Workday integrations portfolio overseeing architecture/monitoring/error handling/vendor coordination.
- Support data integrations/automation efforts across people organization.
- Drive data quality/reconciliation/master-data stewardship within Workday; define/monitor SLAs for issue resolution.
- Guide stakeholder communication/change management including training/release notes/self-service enablement.
- Lead meetings/workshops/requirements gathering translating technical concepts into business terms.
- Stay current with Workday/related HR technologies recommending best-in-class solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years people management experience in IT/HR Systems or related field.
- 2+ years hands-on experience with Workday configuration/security/reporting across multiple modules.
- Strong background in HR/IT or related fields with deep knowledge of Workday business process framework/calculated fields/EIB/integrations.
- Experience managing teams responsible for Workday & other HR application portfolios including system integrations/vendor partners.
- Experience developing multi-year technology roadmaps & strategic planning for Workday & enterprise HR applications; familiarity with AI tools in HR automation/process improvement.
- Excellent communication/stakeholder management/problem-solving skills; ability to translate between technical/business stakeholders.
- Experience working in SaaS or publicly traded company environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on expertise with Workday security/business process framework/calculated fields/EIB/core reporting.
- Familiarity with compliance & controls such as SOX/GDPR/data privacy practices related to Workday.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is 133000 - 201000 CAD. This role may also be eligible for bonus/commission/equity/benefits. Our base salary ranges are determined by role/level/location. The range reflects minimum & maximum base salary expected for newly hired employees. Pay within range depends on market location/job knowledge/skills/experience.
