The Platform Design and Research team at Coinbase plays a critical role in executing on our vision to create more economic freedom for the world and sits at the center of building products across the company. We design the core platforms and internal tools that accelerate product development and operations across Coinbase, and we're building the most secure, trusted, and easy-to-use crypto experiences for millions of customers. You'll join our Financial Platform team to shape the next generation of internal financial infrastructure—the tools and systems that help Coinbase move, account for, and manage money safely and efficiently across products. This is a 0-to-1 opportunity to establish a design standard for internal tools, an area that has historically lacked dedicated design support. As a Staff Product Designer, you'll lead design for financial tools that teams use to launch, operate, and monitor products safely and efficiently—including systems for ledgers, treasury, accounting, reconciliation, and fund allocation. Your work will set the blueprint for how internal platforms across Coinbase are designed, influencing not just Financial Infrastructure but future tooling for DevTools, Compliance, and beyond.

What you'll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Contribute to the overall direction and decision-making for product and design strategy across Coinbase's financial infrastructure tools.
• Own end-to-end design for high-impact features and net-new products, from discovery through launch—including fund flow onboarding and controls, ledger and reconciliation tools, financial lineage explorers, and treasury command centers.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance leadership, Treasury, Accounting, and Compliance to define problems, explore solutions, and ship experiences quickly.
• Design high-quality UI and interaction patterns for data-intensive, workflow-heavy enterprise tools, including visual workflow builders, configuration management systems, and real-time dashboards.
• Make complex financial data digestible and actionable through thoughtful data visualization and information design.
• Run iterative design cycles: ideate, prototype,test with internal users (accountants,tresury managers,CX agents ,engineers),and refine based on qualitative feedbackand operational data.
• Establish scalable design patternsand systems that other teams can reuse,codifying best practicesfor internal platform UX at Coinbase.
• Operate as thesole designerin highly technical rooms—interfacing directlywith Executivesand influencing technical roadmapswith confidence.

What we look for in you (ie.job requirements):

• 8+ yearsof professional Product Design experience ,including leading complex,multi-stakeholder projects end-to-endand operating at Staff-level scope .
• Proven track record designingenterprise solutionsfor complex workflows, ideally used by both technicaland non-technical users .
• Experience designinginternal tools ,developer platforms or operational tooling—you've simplified "messy" back-end processes into elegant functional interfaces .
• Strongdata visualization skills—you can make complex data digestible & actionable .
• Systems thinking—you excel at building tools fromthe ground up where no UI currently exists .
• Excellence in UX thinking systems design & clear written communication .
• Experience influencing product strategy & roadmapin close partnershipwith Product & Engineering .
• Strong cross-functional communication & stakeholder management experience(Product Engineering Finance Accounting Treasury Compliance Operations) .
• Abilityto operateas a "force multiplier"—working independentlyin highly ambiguous spaces identifying right problems to solve rather than purely executing .
• Sharp attentionto detail & masteryof your craft: visual design interaction design prototyping .
• Thrivesin fast-paced sometimes ambiguous environment .
• Fluencyin Figma & modern prototypingtools including using AItools to explore prototype or ship faster .
• Low ego collaborative open-minded .
