Strategic Account Executive 4
About the job
- Lead relationships with growth and mid-market Communications platform customers using Twilio’s messaging, voice, and email services.
- Responsible for protecting and growing Twilio’s communications business across assigned customers.
- Drive highly analytical and consultative sales cycles with large scale, global, competitively sourced, compliance-heavy, use case-specific businesses.
- Role is highly cross-functional; success depends on building deep partnerships across product management, finance, support, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and expand important Retail customer accounts.
- Develop, drive, and execute account strategy to deliver strong revenue, gross margin, and gross profit results.
- Partner closely with other Twilio teams to identify new revenue opportunities within Regulated Verticals account portfolio.
- Serve on a cross-functional account team including product, finance, support, and services representatives.
- Run disciplined forecasts; consistently achieve goals; present guidance to executive management.
- Conduct highly consultative sales cycles focusing on deep discovery and championing customer needs within the organization.
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecast using Salesforce CRM.
Qualifications
Required
- 7 years of sales experience total; minimum 3 years in major account or strategic sales.
- Expertise in managing or leading quantitative, highly analytical products and solutions for customers.
- Accountable for relationship management, cross-sells, upsells, and solutions consulting.
- Comfortable working with business and technical leaders; able to influence understanding and build partnerships.
- Analytical account development strategy using data to find opportunities and prove value.
- Proven track record managing business forecasts and financial models.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to define processes and build programs.
- Record of delivering revenue and gross profit results for large-scale/enterprise customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Desired
- Deep experience with telecom companies including CPaaS, SMS aggregators, carriers, or global communications platforms.
- Domain expertise in quantitative industries such as DevOps, Fintech, advertising optimization, investment banking, security or commodity trading especially in non-standard segments.
- Experience selling Software, SaaS, CPaaS or PaaS.
Location
- Remote role but not eligible for hire in CT, NJ, NY, WA, PA or surrounding areas of San Francisco CA/Oakland CA/San Jose CA.
Travel
- Approximately 30% travel anticipated for in-person connections.

Compensation (for certain states)
Ranges based on location:
- Colorado/Hawaii/Minnesota/Vermont: $132,192 - $165,240
- Washington D.C./Illinois/Maryland/Massachusetts/California (outside SF Bay Area): $139,536 - $174,420
- New York/New Jersey/Washington State/SF Bay Area: $146,880 - $183,600
Additional:
- Eligible for equity plan participation (generally)
- Eligible to earn commissions
