Developers of solar, wind, and energy storage projects use Niras software to find the best locations to site their projects and help manage them through the queue. Niras software products simplify complex and niche electrical engineering concepts that would otherwise lead most renewable energy projects to be cancelled after significant investment. Theyve established an extremely reputable brand and have a rapidly growing customer base. The opportunity to join such an early stage, yet risk-reduced, software company in growth mode is a rare opportunity. The Job Nira is hiring Transmission Planning Engineers to join the product team comprised of half planning engineers and half software engineers. In this role, youll work with other planning engineers and software engineers to build products that help renewable developers put together successful project portfolios. Specifically, youll:

• Focus on deepening and expanding your transmission planning and generator interconnection studies subject matter expertise.
• Work with software engineers and product managers to codify your domain knowledge into Niras software products backend.
• Support the full product life cycle including product ideation, research and development, coding, sales support, customer support, and product maintenance.

Who Were Looking For This could be a great fit if:

• You have experience with generation interconnection related studies. You have 2+ years of hands on experience with tools like TARA, PSS/E, Power World, Python, etc.; and you already have a sense of what data renewable developers need to build a portfolio of successful projects.
• Youre motivated by having ownership in your work. You take initiative on projects and have a strong preference to be a trailblazer. Or when the "trail" is given to you, you are motivated to challenge it and ensure it's the best trail every step of the way.
• Youre ready to roll up your sleeves for the team, and no task is beneath you. Sometimes the work isnt always sexy, but youre down to do it anyway if it means advancing the mission and providing value to our customers.
