Welder - Weekend - First Shift
Location: Devens, MA Department: Corporate Operations – Operations - Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-time, On-site Hours: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm Work Saturday, Sunday, Monday Rate of Pay: $30 - $41 per hour + 15% differential About Commonwealth Fusion Systems:

Job Responsibilities:
- Weld and inspect large metallic structures and tooling within specified timelines and budgets.
- Set up welding processes as per specifications, including determining correct equipment and methods.
- Read and analyze drawings; take detailed measurements for project layout.
- Cut and join material.
- Perform hand welding or semi-automated welding; use advanced welding forms when needed; weld in vertical, flat, and overhead positions.
- Provide manufacturability feedback to design engineers for weld geometries and material selection.
- Perform welding equipment qualification trials.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies focusing on continuous improvement.
- Follow safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications / What We’re Looking For:
- Documented training or certification in most of the following: Blueprint Reading and Fabrication, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
- 5+ years' experience as a welder on large structural systems and tooling.
- Experience with large metallic structures and manufacturing processes related to welding.
- Experience producing welds that meet industry standard requirements.
- Experience welding stainless steel.
- Experience using GTAW process to weld copper.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience in welding for pressure vessel, aerospace, and/or nuclear applications.
- GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, Electron Beam and Laser Welding experience.
- Experience operating mechanized or automated welding equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of various forms of welding equipment and procedures.
- Capacity to work unsupervised.
- Detailed understanding of mathematical/numerical data/calculations.
- Project and time management skills.
Must-Have Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stoop, type, stand, sit for extended periods.
- Dedication to safety mitigating industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, cryogenics.
- Willingness to travel occasionally or work nights/weekends/on-call as required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range $30 - $41 per hour plus equity and benefits (actual salary depends on level/location/qualifications/experience).
